A tradesman's view of boundaries that came from a new view of the text, "Let your YES be yes and your NO be no". Order comes when we sort through the tool box of our life and decide what really belongs.
Many of us have a view of boundaries that is "No Focused". We look at the rules and think of the fun that we are being deprived of, but as a great teacher said once God is not anti-fun but anti-hurt. The 10 Commandments for example are about guarding God's design for Life, not depriving people from fun.
This picture says it all. In life we always go toward focus.Simply seen in physical terms, where our head is pointed while riding a bike, is where the bike will go. If our focus is on the "No" in life, that is exactly where we will go... "Don't get into debt" is different than "here is how to save and be prepared for life's circumstances".
Nobody ever purchased a safe to keep it empty. You have a safe for items of value or great power. The truth is that people are both valuable and powerful by God's design. The enemy knows this and desires to break your boundaries down or build them into a prison cell.
There is no physical way possible for a single person in this pool to keep all the walls up with the pool 1/2 full. The walls are inherently going to fall inward and let anything and everything in, making a mess that nobody wants to be in. Similarly we can see how uncertainty in our identity causes us to let things into our life that are not about our "YES" and will ultimately clutter our lives with chaos and disrupt the order God created us for.
The walls in this situation are already being supported by the water as it is 100% full. If someone were to push from the outside there is an automatic resistance. Having an understanding of who we are in God's general design for life as well as our specific unique design helps us to live in a way that helps us keep order, purpose and sanity.
